Abstract
Cultures of Aspergillus made a heavier and a more rapl.d growth in the medium containing certain concentrations of Mn, Cu, or Zn than in a medium free (carefully tested) from compounds of these elements. Combinations of the optimum concentrations of all 3 stimulated a greater growth than did combinations of any 2. The presence of all 3 influenced the assimilation of P, Mg, and Ca, and the production of fat. Mn, Cu, and Zn are all essential for the growth of both fungi.
