Time and Frequency Dependence of Stimulated Thermal Rayleigh Scattering

Abstract
Theoretical investigations of the transient light amplification of stimulated thermal Rayleigh scattering predict a gain proportional to t2 and, most interesting, a gain at ω=ωLωS=0 (ωL and ωS are the laser and signal frequency, respectively). Experimental investigations using a light amplifier with high-frequency resolution (ωωL108) confirm our calculations.
