Abstract
The nature of the carbohydrate-peptide linkage in the glycopeptides isolated after proteolytic digestion of the structural glycoproteins of the insoluble stroma of porcine and horse aorta was studied. The isolation and identification of 2-acetamido-1-(L-β-aspartamido)-1,2-dideoxy-β-D-glucose from an electrophoretically purified glycopeptide proves the presence of aspartamido-glucosaminidic linkage in these glycoproteins.
