Abstract
Effects of Acetylsalicylic Acid on Platelet FunctionAspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs have already been shown to interfere with the platelet-collagen reaction. In rabbits, aspirin and sodium salicylate interfere with platelet aggregation induced by collagen, antigen–antibody complexes, gammaglobulin-coated particles or thrombin.71 The release of ADP and serotonin is also suppressed. ADP-induced aggregation (that is, the primary wave) is not affected.
