Abstract
The substrate for the coagulant protein of Russell''s-viper venom was isolated from bovine plasma and some of its physical properties were determined. The activation of the venom substrate appears to be the result of some hydrolytic activity of the venom protein. The kinetics of the activation process were investigated. The activated venom substrate has amino acid-esterase activity as well as a powerful coagulant activity.Keywords
