Demonstration of Iron in Cells

Abstract

In an extension of histo-radiographic studies with a beryllium window X-ray tube, the author showed differential deposition of iron in the nuclei of cells of the lung. The specimen was a 10 [mu] section of lung from a case of hemosiderosis. This is the first such demonstration, although mineral substances in plants have been previously shown in such microscopic detail.
