The Molluscan Intermediate Host and Schistosomiasis Japonica. I. Observations on the Conditions Governing the Hatching of the Eggs of Schistosoma japonicum

Abstract
Expts. conducted in the Philippine Is. during May, June and July, 1945, showed that the cleansing of fecal sediment and pH of the water used for sedimentation and hatching were the most important factors in the hatching of eggs of Schistosoma iaponicum. The best miracidial yields were obtained in water at pH 7.6.
