THE EFFECT OF VALVOTOMY ON THE MURMURS OF PULMONARY AND AORTIC STENOSIS

Abstract
The murmurs of valvular and infundibular stenosis before and after operation were analyzed in 20 patients. The most consistent finding was that the frequency of vibrations of the systolic murmur was lower postoperatively. In valvular stenosis, the length of the murmur was reduced by 1/5 after operation; and the time of maximal intensity of murmur (peak) became earlier in all cases save one post-operatively.Keywords
