Investigation of the primate amygdala

Abstract
A repetitive electrical stimulus in one amygdaloid complex can be followed by an after dis charge in the other amygdaloid complex and this can be recorded from the region of the anterior commissure. When the after discharge is recorded from the amygdaloid complex, facial movements which were ipsilateral to the side ol stimulation become bilateral. Facial movements returned to ipsilateral and recording of afterdischarge ceased after the anterior commissure was severed.
