Abstract
The tip of the temporal lobe is closely related to the allocortex and, with the orbital cortex, is concerned with visceral functions. The remainder of the superficial cortex is related to associa-tional areas in the frontal, parietal and occipital lobes. The buried cortex of the temporal lobe has not been systematically explored, but the supratemporal plane is related to audition and its intercortical connections have been investigated. Keywords
