The optical reflectivity spectra of the new high-Tc superconductors (La1-xAx)2CuO4 (A=Ba,Ca,Sr) and MBa2Cu3Oy (M=Y,Er) were investigated. In each spectrum a clear plasma edge was observed. However, the spectrum deviated obviouly from the Drude-type spectrum, indicating the existence of some excitation in the infrared region. The origin of this excitation and its relevance to the superconductivity were discussed.
