Abstract
Kelstrup A. Jørgensen L, Wagtmann M-A, Hansen J, Rosenkvist H. Hvad mente patienterne om psykiatrisk dagafsnit. As part of the evaluation of a recently-opened district psychiatric day unit, an inquiry was made to the 73 patients admitted to the unit in its first year of existence. Seventy-four percent of the patients answered the posted questionnaire, which among other questions inquired about the patients' profit from and their experience of the treatment in the unit. The analysis showed how two-thirds of the patients claimed that nearly all or many of their needs were met by the treatment. Three-fourths of the patients would come back to the program if they were again in need of help. A significant correlation was found between patients' satisfaction and profit from group therapy sessions. Satisfaction was also correlated to getting more self-insight, getting more selfrespect and being more able to show feelings to others. Correlation was also found between satisfaction and gross assessment of good treatment result. The patients' own comments about their stay are referred, and the question of anonymity versus non-anonymity is discussed. Keywords
