Tests of two theories of decision in an "expanded judgment" situation.

Abstract

Performed 2 experiments testing deductions from the decision theories of Cartwright and Festinger and the present authors. Ss were presented with a situation and obliged to make a judgment about reporting the degree of confidence they had in these judgments. Several findings are noted and related to the theories discussed and necessary modifications indicated.
