Effectiveness of Current Killed Influenza Vaccines against Influenza A/England/42/72

Abstract

Current influenza vaccines, made from A/Aichi/68 (H₃N₂ ) virus, may induce limited immunity to the newer variant, influenza A/England/42/72. However, protection is probably not as great as that expected from a vaccine made from the prevalent strain.
