Magnetic Analysis of theMg25(d,p)Mg26,Mg26(d,p)Mg27, andMg25(d,α)Na23Reactions

Abstract
Targets of magnesium oxide, enriched in Mg25 and Mg26 content, have been bombarded by 1.8-Mev deuterons. Proton and alpha-particle groups observed at an angle of 90 degrees to the incident beam have been studied with a high-resolution magnetic spectrograph. Eleven proton groups have been assigned to the Mg25(d,p)Mg26 reaction; two proton groups were assigned to the Mg26(d,p)Mg27 reaction; and three alpha-particle groups were attributed to the Mg25(d,α)Na23 reaction. The Q-values for the ground-state transitions are 8.880±0.010, 4.207±0.006, and 7.019±0.013 Mev, respectively.
