Apparatus previously used for maintaining a dusty atmosphere for inhalation experiments fails when applied to fibrous dusts like asbestos. An apparatus is described which will automatically maintain a dust-laden atmosphere for long periods at a reasonably steady level. A simple method for varying the dust level is provided and there are adequate safeguards against failure.
