Abstract
IDIOPATHIC paralytic myoglobinuria is a rare disease. However, in recent years several cases have been published, bringing the total number reported to 34. The literature contains many excellent and exhaustive reviews of the subject.1 2 3 4 5 6 Of the 34 cases 7 have been associated with a recognizable form of muscular disease. Four of the remaining 27 cases7 8 9 10 were unique in that they were characterized by a single, overwhelming, fatal attack.
