Flavonoid Constituents in Leaves of Rumex acetosa LINNAEUS and R.japonicus HOUTTUYN

Abstract

A flavonoid compound, C21H20O10, m.p. 253[image]254[degree] (decomp.), was isolated from the leaves of Rumex acetosa Linnaeus and identified as vitexin. Quercitrin was isolated as yellow needles, C21H20O11.I 2/3H2O, m.p. 180[image]181[degree](decomp.), from the leaves of R. iaponicus Houttuyn, and identified as such.
