Abstract
Hepatic pathology in a patient with plasma cell myeloma treated for 1 yr. with urethane is discussed. Marked subintimal edema, fragmentation and necrosis of the central veins and portal blood vessels associated with hepatic necrosis were the most prominent features. These vascular lesions were similar to those produced experimentally by admn. of urethane to animals. The hepatic lesions are probably the results of urethane toxicity. Limited use of urethane in beningn conditions, such as sarcoid, is advised. Keywords
