Abstract

The epidermis disappears from the hind legs of guinea pigs 14 days after exposure to 3000 r. It is regenerated from cells outside the irradiated area and reaches a thickness 6 or 7 times normal. Epidermis -SH groups are unchanged hlstochemlcally, if the granular layer is not destroyed, but their concn. increases considerably.
