Abstract
The spectral properties of a surface plasmon resonance sensor based on a planar ion-exchange glass waveguide with a thin gold layer are investigated both theoretically and experimentally. It is demonstrated that the spectral operation region of the sensor can be adjusted in quite a large range by a thin high-index overlayer. Keywords
