Abstract
The Muruts, a primitive proto-Malay people in North Borneo (especially the hill tribes), are gradually dying out through malnutrition and disease (particularly tuberculosis, malaria, venereal infections, and helminthiases). Energetic treatment of both endemic and epidemic conditions plus improvements in education, agriculture, and communications, is necessary if these people are to be saved from extinction in the next few decades. Keywords
