Earthwatch

Abstract
EARTHWATCH provides individuals from across the globe with an opportunity to experience science firsthand while tackling some of the Earth’s most pressing problems. Since 1972, over 50,000 EARTHWATCH volunteers have worked side by side with leading scientists and scholars to sustain the world’s environment, monitor global change, conserve endangered habitats and species, explore the vast heritage of our peoples, and foster world health and international cooperation. EARTHWATCH has mobilized over 1920 projects in 118 countries and 36 states in the last 25 years. The mission of EARTHWATCH is to improve human understanding of the planet, the diversity of its inhabitants, and the processes that affect the quality of life on Earth.
