Abstract
Application of the methodology of analysis of Shockley surface states confirms the existence of Wannier's Stark ladders of energy levels in finite crystals for wave functions that decay exponentially towards both edges of the crystal and shows that the perfectly regular energy intervals will be minutely disturbed by tunneling effects. If phonon scattering is neglected, coherent oscillations of electrons associated with specified energy bands are predicted. Keywords
