Abstract
The inflammatory response in the meninges of the spinal cords of rats with experimental allergic encephalomyelitis has been examined by electron microscopy. Lymphocytes, plasma cells, and macrophages filled with myelin debris are the predominant cells present. Macrophages are especially numerous in the subpial zone. No changes were demonstrated in control animals injected with Freund''s adjuvant without homologous brain. Keywords
