MANAGMENT OF PHENTOLAMINE-RESISTANT PHAEOCHROMOCYTOMA WITH BETA-ADRENERGIC BLOCKADE

Abstract
Tachyphylaxis following repeated administration of alpha-adrenergic-receptor blocking agents is a troublesome complication, especially during the management oo phacochromocytoma. Although it has been indicated that tachycardia is a manifestation heta-adrenergic-receptor blocking agent such as propranolol effective in preventing arrhythmias, but it is also of significant value in overcoming tachyphylaxis following repeated adminisration of alpha-adrenergic-receptor blocking agents.
