Problems Resulting from the Use of Habituating Drugs in Industry

Abstract
A summary of 5 years of extensive, systematic research designed to appraise (1) the behavioral effects of those drugs, d-amphetamine, mephentermine, pipradrol, and methyl-caffeine, having analeptic property with specific attention directed at the sustentation and restoration of operator proficiency and induced changes in emotional and attitudinal behavior and (2) the behavioral effects of those anticholinergic and antihistaminic drugs which are currently used for the prevention of motion sickness with specific attention given to depressant effects on operator proficiency and the mitigation of profound depressant effects by pharmacological, human engineering, and psychological techniques.
