Abstract
A systematic investigation of 16O-induced transfer reactions on a wide range of fp-shell target nuclei from 40Ca to 70Zn has been performed, mainly at a bombarding energy of 48 MeV. The principal reactions observed are (16O, 15N), (16O, 14C) and (16O, 12C), their direct nature being found in the systematic variation of the angular distributions with Q, Z and E. The results of finite-range DWBA calculations for the (16O, 15N) reaction will be presented, and the very important role of angular momentum in heavy-ion reaction dynamics will be made explicit
