Abstract
The nuclear magnetic resonances of Co 59 in (Y 1- x Gd x ) 2 Co 17 have been observed at 77 K as a function of x (0≤ x ≤1). The difference in resonance frequencies between Y 2 Co 17 and Gd 2 Co 17 is at most 7 kOe in magnitude, which is comparable to that obtained in GdCo 5 . The sign of the obtained difference depends on the Co sites. The difference is qualitatively explained as the contribution of 4 f electrons of Gd atoms to the hyperfine field. The temperature dependence of the resonance frequencies in Gd 2 Co 17 has also been measured. Keywords
