Abstract
This approach to conflict-management training provides systematic training in coping skills. Trainees are encouraged to look at conflict from the viewpoint of management of personal reactions (thoughts, feelings, and behaviors) rather than solely from the problem-solving perspective. This orientation involves conceptual input and feedback interwoven with trainee self-examination and practice of new behaviors in a structured human relations training context. The rationale for this approach is offered along with suggested activities for self-examination and skills development.
