Abstract
A set of three coupled nonlinear equations describing electrostatic drift waves, drift Alfvén waves, convective cells, and magnetic drift modes has been derived for finite ion temperature. The reduction to simplified nonlinear model equations in different regimes and the consequences for transport properties are discussed.
