Abstract
One group of rats was fed a vit. A-deficient diet, another was given a minimal dose (0.57 y) of vit. A daily, and other groups were given vit. A plus either ethyl alcohol or vit. E, as pure d,a-tocopherol, or both. The vit. A-deficient rats showed severe gastric lesions. Vit. E fed to rats receiving minimal doses of vit. A with and without alcohol protected the rats from ulcers, except with the larger dose of alcohol. Ulcers were present in many rats that received no vit. E supplement. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
