Abstract
Isoquinoline yields methylisoquinoline through the body which is isolated from dog and chicken urine after subcutaneous injection. From the dog urine after subcutaneous injection of 40 gm. isoquinoline, a daily dose of 0.1-0.5 gm. in olive oil being given, 1.5 gm. methylisoquinolinechloroplatinate was crystallized out, and similarly 0.5 gm. as a platinum double salt from the chicken urine after injection of 15.0 gm. On the contrary, methylisoquinoline could not be isolated from rabbit urine after injection of 41.0 gm. To isolate the methylisoquinoline, the urine, treated with Pb acetate and liquid plumbi subacetatis, was precipitated by KHgI3.
