Abstract
Two additional species of Rhizangiid corals are recorded from the Wanganui Basin. Culicia rubeola (Quoy and Gaimard) is also represented in the modern fauna and is discussed in relation to depth distribution of the Wanganui faunas and possible occurrence of derived coral specimens in the Cook Strait area. Oulangia radames n. sp. is reported for the first time from New Zealand. Its appearance in Tongaporutuan sediments is the earliest record of the genus. Some aspects of the ecology of its occurrence are discussed.
