Evidence that Factor VIII and the Ristocetin Aggregating Factor (VIIIRist) are Separate Molecular Entities

Abstract
Whether human factor VIII, factor VIII related-antigen (VIIIR-Ag) and factor VIII associated ristocetin aggregating factor (VIIIRist) reside on the same or on different molecules was investigated. Factor VIII was separated from VIIRist and VIIIR-Ag using a double-antibody technique; this was consistent with the multiple but not the 1 molecule hypothesis. No conclusions could be drawn as to whether VIIIRist and VIIIR-Ag were discrete or the same molecular entities.
