Abstract
Measurements of the 1H NMR line width and Knight shift have been made as functions of temperature and hydrogen concentration for CeHx (2≤xx=2.45 at T=6°K for which the line width is 160 G. The shifts and widths decrease as the concentration is decreased or increased to 2.0 or 2.85, respectively. Calculations of the shifts are performed using the RKKY theory with the assumption of Weiss constants obtained from a linear fit to the reciprocal shift data. What appears to be a magnetic ordering occurs for the intermediate concentrations (TN=5.4°K for x=2.45), as observed by the disappearance of the line. A simple overlapping, rigid‐band model is proposed to explain the results. Keywords
