Abstract
The fundamental frequencies of iron pentacarbonyl were assigned using recent vibrational data. The results show that iron pentacarbonyl possesses a trigonal bipyramidal structure. Valency force constants were evaluated for a force field consisting only of the diagonal F‐matrix elements. Keywords
