Abstract
A high incidence of gout and hyperuricemia exists in certain limited Filipino populations. Substantial evidence suggests that this is not an environmental phenomenon but rather an inherited trait. The serum uric acid frequency distribution curve favors a single gene hypothesis of inheritance, which, in turn, implies the existence of a genetic polymorphism. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
