RAT LEYDIG CELL PHOSPHOLIPID CONTENT IS INCREASED BY LUTEINIZING HORMONE AND 8-BROMO-CYCLIC AMP

Abstract
Addition of luteinizing hormone to incubations of highly-purified Leydig cells provoked increases in testosterone production and tissue concentrations of phosphatidic acid, phosphatidylinositol and polyphosphoinositides. Similar effects were elicited by 8-bromo-cyclic AMP. These results are in accord with the possibility that phospholipids may play an important role in steroidogenesis in Leydig cells.
