Abstract
We recently reported on preliminary surface-phonon-dispersion data for Au(111) obtained by helium atom scattering [M. Cates and D. R. Miller, J. Electron Spectrosc. Relat. Phenom. 30, 157 (1982)]. We report in this paper additional scattering data, inelastic scattering probabilities, and a comparison of our spectra to theoretical calculations. Keywords
