Abstract
A simple approximation whereby exchange cross sections in helium may be calculated is described and applied to the calculation of the 11S-23S, 11S-23P and 21S-23S cross sections. It is shown that the approximation yields results which are considerably better than those obtained by means of some other methods in the energy region near to the maximum of the cross section. Keywords
