The nature of the sulphur atom liberated from xanthine oxidase by cyanide. Evidence from e.p.r. spectroscopy after 33S substitution

Abstract
Active xanthine oxidase was labeled specifically with 33S in the cyanide-labile site of the Mo center. The Very Rapid Mo(V) EPR, signal, generated from this, shows strong coupling of 33S to Mo, providing unambiguous evidence that, at least in the signal-giving species, this Su atom is a ligand of Mo.
