Treatment of Ventricular Arrhythmia after Corrective Cardiac Surgery in a Neonate with Intravenous Amiodarone

Abstract
Recurrent ventricular fibrillation in a neonate after corrective surgery was effectively treated with intravenous amiodarone in addition to countershock. Amiodarone was administered in a loading dose of 1.3 milligrams per kilogram body weight in 12 minutes, followed by continuous infusion of 5.3 milligrams per kilogram body weight per 24 hours.
