Abstract
A technique has been developed for the in vitro synthesis and bio-assay of the tumor-inducing principle, the pre-eminent factor active in the transformation of normal plant cells into crown-gall tumor cells. This synthesis can occur only in the presence of a heat-labile "synthesis factor" present in a number of plants. Both indirect and direct evidence suggests that the tumor-inducing principle is a deoxyribo-nucleic acid. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
