Abstract
The wts. of the uterus and vagina of spayed mice, spayed mice bearing an autoplastically grafted ovary in the spleen, and unoperated animals were compared.. The organs of graft-bearing mice weighed significantly less than those of the controls; the organs of the castrates were in turn significantly lighter in wt. than those of the graft-bearing mice. Histological examination of the uterus and vagina of the graft-bearing mice support the conclusion that sex hormone produced by an ovary situated in the spleen is not totally removed by the liver. The avg. graft wt. was 6 times that of a control ovary. A suggestion of negative correlation is seen between the wts. of the grafts and the corresponding uteri.
