Abstract
Summary Human blood leukocytes, following incubation with a purified endotoxin derived from Proteus vulgaris or with heat-killed Staphylococcus albus cells, release a pyrogen that produces fever in rabbits. This material is clearly separable from bacterial endotoxin, and has properties similar to those described for leukocyte pyrogen produced by rabbit granulocytes. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
