Reliability of the shortened Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory.

Abstract
30 psychiatric patients were given the short form (350 items) and the original form (550 items) of the MMPI in order to determine the reliability of the shorter test for clinical practice. Correlation coefficients of individual scales on test-retest with these 2 forms range from .51 to .92. Although statistically significant differences were found between the mean weighted scores of half the scales, these results were not clinically significant as judged by profile results. More than one-third of the time required for the longer form was eliminated by using this shortened version. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
