Abstract
The method described for the isolation of isocitratase from photogenic bacteria and the simple method of culture of Photobacterium fischeri in submerged culture permits the preparation of isocitratase in large amounts. By means of isoelectric precipitation of an aqueous extract of acetone-dried powder and subsequent fractionation with ammonium sulfate, isocitratase can be obtained from photogenic bacteria at an ammonium sulfate concentration of 2.05 M. The enzyme which is stable for several days under a nitrogen atmosphere can be concentrated 30-fold.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
