Measurement of the branching fractions τ−→ρ−ντ and τ−→K−ντ

Abstract

We have measured the branching fraction of ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→${\rho }^{\mathrm{-}}$ ${\nu }_{\tau }$ to be (22.3±0.6±1.4)% and the branching fraction of ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→$K^{\mathrm{*}\mathrm{-}}$ ${\nu }_{\tau }$ to be (1.3±0.3±0.3)%. These values are consistent with the expectations for conventional decays of the τ.
