Abstract
It is suggested that intense laser fields may be used to modulate the wave functions of electrons. A classical model is used to demonstrate the greatly altered radiation fields of these electrons after they emerge from the laser beam. The observation by Schwarz and Hora of visible radiation from a nonluminescent target appears to result from these fields. Keywords
